Library Policies

  1. Be quiet in the Library. The Library is a shared academic work space in a large open area. Voices carry easily and are disruptive to students studying.

    • Quiet talking is allowed in the main Library and in the corridors. Quiet talking means that your voice should only be audible to the people at your table.

    • The back room is for silent study only. Silent study means that you may not talk, at all.

  2. Academic work has priority. Space in the Library is reserved for students doing academic work. If you are discovered to be using a computer or iPad for non-school related activities such as: gaming, shopping, or social media, you will be asked to leave.

  3. Food and drink are not allowed. Please put away water bottles and snacks before entering the Library.

Be respectful: the Library is a shared space; your actions affect others. Do not:

    • Write on furniture or vandalize equipment.
    • Leave trash on the floor.

    • Stick gum under tables or chairs

  1. Leave the furniture in place. The furniture in the library has been carefully placed to create a comfortable and safe environment. Do not move chair or tables. The aisle leading toward the emergency exits must be kept clear at all times.

  2. Find a seat. You many not sit on the floor of the library.
